Q: Will I pass a drug test if I use CBD products?
A: We cannot make any claims on whether or not any of our products will be detectable in a drug test. Although our products have no detectable THC, we are not legally able to make any recommendations or guarantees regarding drug tests. If that is a concern, we would recommend not consuming any CBD products until you have done more research
Q: How is hemp different than marijuana?
A: Marijuana contains THC, a psychoactive compound. Hemp contains extremely low (less than 0.3%) THC.
Q: Is hemp legal?
A: In 2004, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals made a unanimous ruling that determined that the DEA "cannot regulate naturally-occurring THC not contained within or derived from marijuana, i.e., non-psychoactive hemp is not included in Schedule I. The DEA has no authority to regulate drugs that are no scheduled."
Q: What is hemp extract?
A: The hemp plant is full of non-psychoactive cannabinoids and less than 3% of the psychoactive cannabinoids. Hemp extract is produced from industrial hemp that contains less than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis, and is extracted from the stems and stalks of the plant to produce the extract which contains multiple cannabinoids.
Q: What is the source of hemp in the products that Sierra CBD sells?
A: Blue Creek has qualifications that all plants must meet. These products are consistently tested to ensure that they meet these standards. All products are made from Non-GMO, pesticide-free industrial hemp. It is grown outdoors under natural sunlight with organic practices. It has not been certified by the FDA.
Q: What are the dosage recommendations for Sierra Wellness products?
A: Legally, we are unable to make dosage recommendations. CBD affects everyone differently - both immediately and over time - so the product and dosage that works best for each person's needs depends on the individual.
Q: They say that CBD is non-psychoactive....what does that mean?
A: Unlike THC, CBD does not cause a high. While this makes CBD a poor choice for recreational users, it gives the chemical a significant advantage as a medicine, since health professionals prefer treatments with minimal side effects. CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same pathways as THC. These pathways, called CB1 receptors, are highly concentrated in the brain and are responsible for the mind-altering effects of THC. A 2011 review published in Current Drug Safety concludes that CBD “does not interfere with several psychomotor and psychological functions.” The authors add that several studies suggest that CBD is “well tolerated and safe” even at high doses.
